How to bring the Bling – Art Deco Style

Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes was where the Art Deco movement began in architecture and decorative arts.

The international movement, most popular between the years 1924 to 1940, relied on bold designs, clear lines, geometric shapes and intense colour schemes.

The characteristics are derived from the various painting styles of the early twentieth century, ranging from Cubism to Italian Futurism. Art Deco is usually associated with the architecture of the 1930s, depicting speed and luxury.
Geometric shapes using diamonds and gems were admired by the flappers and suffragettes of the Roaring 20s.

They loved large rings, long necklaces, and extended earrings that complemented their knee-length dresses, shorter hairstyles and plunging necklines.
